I was actually having a similar problem. It turned out that I had a folder called "Builds" located within my project folder and for some reason that was causing problems with the installation on my phone as well as the Android emulator. If you have any extraneous files in your project folder, I would recommend selecting the "Resources" tab when you export, then using the selection "Export Selected Scenes (and dependencies)" , then select all of the scenes that you used in the project.
Another recommendation is to select all of the options for "Architectures" (arm, x86, x86 64).

    Thank you Duaneg,
i dont have a folder called "Builds" in my project folder.
    all resources into my project.
    I only have the folders
"sprites" and " fonts" and the generated folder ".import"
i did what you wrote, "Export Selected Scenes (and dependencies)" - it is only one scene.
i did "select all of the options for "Architectures" (arm, x86, x86 64)."

    ...but still the same problem...
    thank you

i built a very small test project:
one scene, one node2d and one sprite withe the godot icon as texture in it, no folders.

    still the same error...
i think the problem is my setup...but what did i wrong???
    Thank you

Did you install the Android SDK as mentioned here? If so, you should use the adb.exe you got in this step.

Your adb file path should look something like this: C:\Users[USER]\AppData\Local\Android\Sdk\platform-tools\adb.exe (replace [USER] with your user name. Also note that AppData is a hidden folder, so you will need to type the path into the address bar. Sorry I didn't notice that before.

what phone model are you trying to install the project on? also did you compile the editor and export templates or are you using the official build?

    Hi rjoshua,
    danke!

ok, i cant attach the apk, because the apk is over 24 mb big...but this is too much, there is only 1 szene with one Node2D and one sprite with the godot icon as texture...

...hmm...why can be the apk so big?

    Thank you
    Neo

    Hi!

I test it but, like you said, it does not install. If you believe that the problem is in your setup, you may try deleting this folder:
"C:\Users\Joshua\AppData\Roaming\Godot" (The folder called "Godot" in "Roaming"). If you delete this, godot will start like it was the first time, but you will must download and install again the export templates.

Another option would be upload your project folder, maybe if we analyze it we can find the problem. Sorry if it is hard for you, but maybe the solution is to wait a new version of godot. :)

    Hi rjoshua,
thank you...ok, i deleted this folder and, like you said, i must installed export template new and had to configurate my Godot new...
all done, always no errormessages...and still not working:
on oneclick run i get the progress bar popup with all infos and no errors...creating, deleting and at last, run .apk, all looks fine...but on my phone, nothing happend...no apk installed or run...

i really dont know more to do...
its confusing, becaus allways no errors...

ok, here my really small test project:

thank you again for spending your time!

I try your app in an emulator called Bluestack, and works fine.
This is the apk what I exported in my godot 3.0:
    https://drive.google.com/open?id=1pTP2oJ8ONNoucvqmIqCEenm_yEBHkFvI

If not work, I really suspect that the problem is the opengl version of your phone.
If your phone, do not support opengl 3.0, it will not run tha app.
If you could get another phone or tablet to try the app, I would check my theory.

I send you an empty scene, from the version of godot 2.1.4, works with opengl 2.0, try it and see if it works: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1xDv309O4M7YEM_UmdQApMngFP6GKLXD3

The support for opengl 2.0 will be back in godot 3.1

That's great that you got it working. By the way, Godot 3.0 can export projects that do not require Open GL ES 3.0. You need to select x86 and/ x86 64 under Architectures in the export options.

  • Shin-NiLShin-NiL Posts: 158Moderator

Are you sure @Duaneg? AFAIK the architecture isn't related with the renderer.
