Wind vertex shader

Hi there,

The shader simulates wind with Y amplitude variation and wind X variation, it uses vertex color to control wind speed.

Some possible additions
->add Z variation like X variation with a different amplitude multiplier
->use other vertex color to control Y amplitude independent from X and Z variation amplitudes

can this technique can be apply to clothes such as cloaks and hats??
    your coding skills are impressive.
    thx for sharing!

You can apply it to clothes, with color you control how much a cloth part can move :)

but how do you synchronise it with the character animations?
so the cloak moves when the model jumps or runs.
    looks complicated. :s

You're right i'm not sure it will work on characters because the shaders works in global world coordinates.
And it doesn't syncrhonise with animations, it's not a physics mesh effect.
It's made to work with static objects like trees, plants or objects having some fabric or soft parts able to wooble with wind.

Wait for Godot major next release, it should have Cloth physics.

well thats mean you have to animate the clothes too. :# :s
Cloth physics is one of those things that attract me the most, like "journey" that game looks so good.
i have to have patience. :(
